Dear Friends,

It is with very mixed emotions that I am writing to inform you of my decision to change course in my career, out of the private practice of dentistry, and into my new position as Assistant Professor of Dentistry at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.

Some of you might be aware of a medical issue I experienced in October, 2017. The issue was a one time significant event that left me with no long term restrictions. The scare did, however, make me re-assess my lifelong goals.

A coach of mine taught me that our tombstones depict our year of birth and year of death. Our entire life is represented by the dash situated between those years. I have always tried to infuse my dash with meaning, to make a difference in people’s lives. My father, of blessed memory, and also a dentist, taught me to cherish the relationships that can be developed with our patients, which became my formula for professional success. Throughout my career I have tried to build real and meaningful relationships with you, my patients. Getting to know you has been the most rewarding part of my career. I hope that I have made a difference.

In my new role, I will be able to utilize my years of experience to help mold the next generation of dentists. I will teach my students to be more skilled clinically. As importantly, I will teach them how to listen, and to be compassionate. I hope to make a difference here as well.

dr. schwartz - best dentist westchester county nyMy decision to make this move had been agonizingly hard, until I met Scott. Dr. Scott Schwartz is a gem, and I will begin transitioning my practice to him over a few months starting on August 19th, 2019.

Scott shares my patient first focus and multidisciplinary approach to dentistry. We have the same desire to embrace new technologies and to remain current with all facets of dentistry. I believe you will be in excellent hands with him and our very competent, wonderful, and friendly staff. For all of our loyal patients in our Dental Savings Plan, nothing will change, as all services and benefits will be honored!

Dr. Scott Schwartz grew up in New Jersey, but he, along with his wife and son, recently moved to Westchester County and are excited to start their new lives in this community. Scott studied at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry and after graduating, continued his education with a GPR Residency at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, where he received extensive training in all phases of dentistry, including cosmetic dentistry, implant placement, root canals, and even Invisalign treatment. He has been practicing at high-end dental practices since graduating from his residency. Scott has been married to his wife, Stacy, for 4 years, and they have an 18 month old son, Lucas. Scott enjoys playing sports, traveling with his family, and playing music on his guitar.

We want this transition to be as smooth as possible for you, and all of your records will be kept in the office, unless we hear differently from you. I trust that you will show Scott the same loyalty and friendship that you have shown me. I know that you will be impressed. We will soon be announcing an open house, meet and greet, so that you can meet Scott for yourselves! It has been an honor and a privilege to serve you.

Thank you.
