Implants

Before development of dental implants, dentures and bridgework were the only alternative to replacing a missing tooth or teeth. But now, thanks to modern technology, Dr. Levey's patients enjoy implants that are so well-designed, they mimic the look and feel of natural teeth, with implants having the added benefit of not being subject to gum disease or cavities.

Procedure

As with all the procedure offered in his practice, Dr. Levey always takes your time and comfort into consideration and always tells you what he is planning to do every step of the way.  During your first visit with a specialist (a Periodontist or Oral Surgeon of your choice) an anchor (implant) is placed into the jawbone and the site is allowed to heal for several months. This gives your tissue time to grow around the anchor to more firmly hold it in place. After healing, natural-looking teeth are fitted over the implanted anchor(s).
